The DocDay 2018 is a two days conference organized by the Institute of Biotechnology in the IFA-Tulln. The event will be held under the auspices of the Bio-Resources and Technologies (BiRT) inititative.
This year’s conference will take place in the Peter-Ruckenbauer lecture hall at the IFA-Tulln
in 3430 Tulln, Konrad-Lorenz-Straße 20 (Google maps).
The aim of the conference is to provide PhD students working at the Campus Tulln a platform to present their research. Furthermore, the event allows an interdisciplinary exchange of the research groups at the Campus Tulln. PhD students are invited to submit an abstract for an oral (12 min talk + 3 min discussion) or a poster presentation.
Furthermore, two awards will be granted for the best talk and best poster. The first day of the conference will be closed by the ‘PhD-Oktoberfest’, as it has already become a tradition. PhD supervisors and interested persons are highly welcome to join the presentations, scientific discussions and social events.
PhD students who want to obtain 2 ECTS for the course 970402 Bio-Resources and Technologies in the winter semester 2018/19 have to additionally register at BOKUonline. Students registered for the course will present their research topic in form of an oral or a poster presentation on the 23rd of October as well as introduce labs, instruments and methods used in their projects on the 24th of October. All other participants are also welcome to join the lab tour.
PhD students of the Technopol Tulln have the opportunity to present their work as oral presentations (12 min talk + 3 min discussion).
PhD students can also present their work as posters in a dedicated poster session.
In the evening of the first conference day all participants are invited to the PhD-Oktoberfest. Pretzels, Bavarian veal sausages and drinks will be provided.

Please register until the 1st of October to participate at the DocDay.
The final program and the book of abstracts will be published online around 2 weeks before the conference. Conference participants will be notified per e-mail.
The conference will take place in the Peter-Ruckenbauer lecture hall at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), Department of Agrobiotechnology (IFA-Tulln), Konrad-Lorenz-Straße 20, 3430 Tulln an der Donau. On-site registration opens at 8:30 am.
Students registered for the course will be divided into groups and will introduce their labs in Tulln. All other participants are also welcome to join. The tour program starts at 9:00 am at the IFA-Tulln.

The DocDay 2018 will take place at the IFA-Tulln, Center for Analytical Chemistry in the Peter Ruckenbauer lecture hall. The lecture hall has a WXGA beamer (resolution 1280x800, Panasonic EW730) and a microphone. Presentations can be started from the provided PC (Windows 7, Internet connection) which is equipped with Microsoft Office 2013.
Standard poster hangars for A0 posters will be available and mounting material will be provided.
Lunch and coffee breaks will be held in the AZ-Atrium of the IFA-Tulln.
